Laos through to semi-finals of AFF U-23 champs

Laos will play in the semi-finals of the AFF Under-23 Championship in Cambodia on February 24 after beating Malaysia 2-0 in the second leg played on Monday.
This is a historic event for Laos, who have never reached such dizzying heights in the Championship before.
The semi-final, scheduled for 4pm at the Morodok Techo National Stadium, will give Laos the chance to place second. Laos will next face Cambodia, who are also in Group A, while Vietnam and Thailand will face off in Group C.
The Lao team was both delighted and amazed after beating Malaysia 2-1 at the Prince Stadium in the first leg of their matches against that country.
The Lao squad is training at the Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng training ground in Cambodia under the watchful eye of head coach Mr Weiss, who is keen to see them progress even further.
The teams playing in Group A of the competition comprise host Cambodia, Timor Leste, the Philippines and Brunei, while Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore are facing off in Group C.
