Laos to face only Malaysia in first round of AFF U-23 champs

Laos will play just two matches in the first round of the AFF Under-23 Championship taking place in Cambodia from February 14-26, following the withdrawal of Myanmar and Indonesia from the tournament.
The Myanmar and Indonesian teams have been affected by the Covid-19 outbreak and are unable to attend the championship.
This means that in the first round of Group B matches, Laos will face only Malaysia, with matches scheduled for February 18 and February 21.
The Lao squad is training at the Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng training field in Cambodia, led by head coach Mr Michael Weiss from Germany.
Cambodia is using the Morodok Techno National Stadium and the Prince Stadium for the championship matches.
The teams drawn in Group A comprise host Cambodia, Timor Leste, the Philippines and Brunei, while Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore are facing off in Group C.
