Laos’ U8 football team wins LaLiga Youth Tournament 2022 Cup

Laos’ Mazda GB FC U8 team won the LaLiga Youth Tournament 2022 Cup, with the event hosted by Penang, Malaysia, under Spain’s LaLiga project to develop footballing talent among children in Asean countries.
The tournament took place from July 23-24.
The Lao boys got off to a flying start, clocking up seven points from two wins and one draw, beating Kulai Intelek FC 2-0, Akademi Wira Muda 2-1, and drawing with ATPP 0-0.This meant the young squad was able to progress in the tournament and went on to achieve further success, beating ATPP 3-2, Motta Arata FC 1-0, and drawing with NFDP Johor 0-0. 
The boys achieved an impressive tally of eight goals scored, while their opponents managed to score only three goals against the team, giving the excited squad a resounding victory.
Now the boys will have the opportunity to train towards new heights of footballing prowess, and are no doubt eyeing the chance to rise up the ranks and take their place among the nation’s superstars.
In the meantime, the Lao Football Federation is on the lookout for talented junior players to join national teams in various age categories, with a view to competing at future international football events.
