Laos gets off to flying start at AFF U-19 champs in Indonesia
Laos had a great start to the AFF U-19 Championship on Sunday after beating Timor Leste 2-0 in their first match of the tournament, which is taking place in Indonesia.
The squad intends to continue their good form into their second match on July 7, when they will face a tougher side from Cambodia.
On July 9, the team takes on Singapore and on July 11 Laos will face Malaysia.
The U-19 team has been training since June 20. The players were selected by head coach Mr Michael Weiss, who led the Lao team at the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam in May.
Group A in the championship comprises Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei and the Philippines, while Group B consists of Malaysia, Laos, Timor Leste, Cambodia and Singapore.
