Lao U-16s to compete at tournament in Indonesia

The Lao Football Federation will select talented young footballers for the Asean Football Federation (AFF) U16 Boys Championship, which takes place in Indonesia from July 31 to August 13.
There are currently 35 U-16 players training at the National Sports Training Centre in Vientiane in preparation for the Championship. 
The AFF’s competition organising committee held a draw on June 9 to determine which countries would play in which group.
Laos was drawn in Group B, along with Thailand, Timor Leste and Brunei.
Group A comprises Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and the Philippines, and Group C pits together Malaysia, Australia, Myanmar and Cambodia.
The winners of each group will go forward to the semi-finals, while the teams placed second will gain points for their high ranking.
