Lao entrants sought for “DigiCon6 Asia Awards 2022 in Japan”
Japan Foundation Asia Centre Vientiane invites local Lao nationals to enter “24th DigiCon6 Asia Awards – Asia’s Supreme Short Movie Contest in Japan”.
TBS Holdings, Inc., Japan’s premiere media companies’ group, organises and holds the “DigiCon6 Asia Awards” in Japan every year since 2000. The purpose is to seek, recognise and award talented short film and animation creators from Asian countries and regions. This year it will be held in November in Tokyo as the 24th edition. Preceding the contest in Japan, regional contests will be held in Asian countries and regions such as China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan,

Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
In Laos the Japan Foundation Vientiane will stage the 3rd regional contest in August. In 2020 Laos participated in the “DigiCon6 Asia Awards” for the first time.
The “Gold Award” winner of each regional contest is invited to Japan to participate in the Tokyo contest. All awarded video works will be forwarded to Japan as candidate works to compete in the Tokyo final contest in November.
All videos submitted to the contest must be less than 15 minutes long, CG animation (2D/3D), stop motion/clay animation, real video image, etc.
Any topic or theme is acceptable except political issues and unsuitable content for youth. Format must be MP4 or MOV (Quality of video: FHD 1920 x 1080).
Local Lao nationals wishing to enter the contest can download an entry form and fill it in at https://www.tbs.co.jp/digicon/en/24th/entry/. Once you have completed it, please submit the entry form through Google Drive to [email protected]. Submission period is from April 28 to August 15, 2022.
In the regional contest in Laos, the winner of the Gold Award will receive 5 million kip and be Invited to the 24th Digicon6 Asia Award ceremony in Tokyo in November. The winner of the Silver Award will receive 3 million kip and the winner of the Next Generation Award will be given 1.5 million kip. The judging panel will comprise five media professionals to be announced.
