Lao celebrities become Friends of UNICEF Laos
Lao celebrities Mr Tanu Vannasin, Miss Universe Laos 2019 Vichitta Phonevilay and Lao singer Vipha Yaganegi (A’Anita Yanganegi) have been named Friends of UNICEF Laos to promote children rights in the country.
The new UNICEF Laos Regional Director Debora Comini presented them with certificates after making the announcement and encouraged them to promote children’s rights for UNICEF Laos and children’s rights across the country.
UNICEF Laos Representative Dr Pia Rebello Britto was present at the announcement.
The new Friends of UNICEF Laos voiced their appreciation to UNICEF Laos for placing trust in them and selecting them to work with the agency to promote children’s rights.
UNICEF Laos stated “We are proud to officially announce Vannasin Thipaphay (Tanu), Vichitta Phonevilay (May), and Vipha Yaganegi (Anita), as the first Friends of UNICEF in Laos.”
“Friends of UNICEF are well-known personalities who are highly committed to the cause of children’s rights and UNICEF’s mission. Tanu, May and Anita will work with us to promote child rights and raise awareness of children’s issues in Laos.”
Pia Rebello Britto posted a message congratulating the new Friends of UNICEF Laos and welcomed them to UNICEF Laos through her Facebook page.
“As successful professionals, our young friends will use their voices to reach a new generation of people and mobilise more support for UNICEF’s mandate in promoting and protecting children’s rights, especially in light of the Covid-19 pandemic’s impacts, and I am excited to work with them all,” she wrote.
