Vientiane International Motor Expo promises treats for petrolheads
The 6th Vientiane International Motor Expo will take place this month to promote Laos’ automotive industry, spur economic development, and inform the motoring public about automotive innovations and technologies.
The event will take place at Lao-ITECC from November 19-27, organised by the PP Entertainment and Event Organiser Company with the approval of the Department of Trade Promotion, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the event organiser company Director, Mr Phonechan Phengsouvanh, announced at a press conference on Friday.
This year, the company has engaged in closed cooperation with every auto dealer, with a focus on new models and electric vehicles.
Vehicles on display at the Expo will include motorbikes, trucks and luxury cars, as well as a range of car accessories. It will feature a wide variety of exciting new models from leading automakers, with the aim of tempting buyers to invest in a brand new vehicle.
During the nine-day event, participants can enjoy various activities such as performers from Lao and neighbouring countries, a talk on safe driving, and driving tests.
Those who register at the entrance will also have the chance to win prizes and take part in a car decoration competition.
This year’s Vientiane International Motor Expo expects to attract 50,000 visitors.
The event is taking place in response to the needs of consumers as well as car dealers and accessory shops.
More importantly, it will also serve to boost competition in the automotive industry, further open up the auto market and raise the profile of Laos on the international motoring stage, Mr Phonechan said.
