LSCO further officer Lao stock market education
The Lao Securities Commission Office (LSCO) is continuing its efforts to provide information and education to the public on the domestic stock market and the potential opportunities for investments.
As part of this initiative, the LSCO held a seminar on Wednesday on the fundamental analysis of stocks for the public. The seminar, which was chaired by the Director General of LSCO, Secretary-General, Mrs Fongchinda Sengsourivong, was part of a project backed by the government of Luxembourg.
The seminar aimed to boost understanding of the stock market among the public, the staff of state enterprises, the private sector, micro-finance institutes, business units, students and representatives of other sectors that are related to or benefit from the stock market around Vientiane.
The knowledge provided at the seminar can be used to for making decisions about investments in the stock market. It was also aimed at encouraging people and creating human resources for the development of the Lao capital market in order to bring it at par with its counterparts in the region.
During the seminar, participants learnt about important topics such as the opportunity to benefit from stock investments and the fundamental analysis of stocks.
The Lao capital market has witnessed steady development and been able to increase long-term capital.
The capital has been used by enterprises to expand their production and business operations and to serve the development plan. Currently, there are 11 listed companies, including four securities companies, three custodian banks and four accounting firms, on the Lao Securities Exchange (LXS).
