Businesses discusses in-company trainer training
Experts who have undergone courses to train others in their companies met this week to discuss issues such as training concepts, use of training materials, assessment and certification.
The gathering of the training experts was also aimed at seeking ways for better cooperation between the Dual-Cooperative Training Service Centre (DCTSC) of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) and the Vocational Education Development Institute (VEDI).
The meeting was co-chaired by the Deputy Secretary General of LNCCI, Ms Daovading Phiraxayphithack, and the Acting Director of VEDI, Dr Bounseng Khammounty.
Representatives from the Vocational Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Sports and Vocational Education Lao PDR (VELA – GIZ) and the trainers of DCTSC also attended the consultation meeting.
The DCTSC was established within LNCCI in 2020. Based on the successful model of dual training in Germany, the centre uses an innovative approach that combines school-based training in TVET institutions with workplace-based training and experience in companies.
The centre provides tailor-made services to support businesses with the planning, organisation and implementation of dual-cooperative training.
Through this linkage, companies provide trainees with the opportunity to acquire technical skills, knowledge and the right work attitude on the job. As a result, the companies benefit from a better trained, productive and loyal workforce while reducing recruitment and induction costs.
