First-ever cryptocurrency business kicks off in Laos
The first ever cryptocurrency exchange operator in Laos, bitqik, last week officially launched its business, with more than 20 coins and tokens listed for trade.
The bitqik platform provides full brokerage and trading services in cryptocurrencies and other digital assets, both within Laos and the region.
The launch was attended by Minister of Technology and Communication, Prof. Dr Boviengkham Vongdara; Deputy Minister of Finance Dr Phouthanouphet Xaysombath; the Governor of the Bank of the Lao PDR, Dr Bounleua Sinxayvoravong; the Chairman of bitqik, Mr Ekaphanh Phapithack; the CEO of bitqik, Mr Virasak Viravong; and Lao and foreign partners and customers.
bitqik Sole Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of the SMG Group which is officially licensed and regulated by the Bank of the Lao PDR to operate business as a cryptocurrency exchange through its website and mobile applications.
To make crypto-to-fiat and fiat-to-crypto transactions seamless, bitqik has partnered with the Joint Development Bank (JDB), a leading commercial bank in Laos. This means bitqik users and traders can conveniently and easily attach their personal JDB bank account to the bitqik wallet.
The bitqik wallet is a secured wallet where users can send, receive and store their digital coins or tokens.
Besides serving the domestic market, bitqik aims to target global customers by bringing opportunities and investment to Laos.
To be the leader in the blockchain and web 3.0 industry, the exchange plans to bring more products and services to the market by enabling transactions between crypto to fiat and fiat to crypto.
The company is proud to be the first ever cryptocurrency exchange in Laos, giving interested people access to technology that can benefit them.
The bitqik office is located in Vientiane and customers can walk in to consult the customer support team or get help via the company’s online channels.
The company also holds weekly free training sessions for users who are interested in investing, trading and blockchain technology.
The bitqik academy is an open-access e-learning class, providing education on blockchain, digital assets, and crypto learning resources.
There are also offline training sessions for interested participants, with bitqik insight providing financial analysis and data-driven insights for investors in the industry.
