LNCCI to promote MSMEs in agricultural sector
The Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) is focusing on ways to promote effective investments in sustainable practices in the agricultural sector in Laos, especially for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
An online and in-person conference was chaired last week by the Executive Vice President of LNCCI, Mr Daovone Phachanthavong, to seek the most effective ways of promoting business units in the agricultural sector.
LNCCI will provide advice to its members on accessing finance, especially MSMEs and new start-ups, because these business units are the backbone of the Lao economy.
The main purpose of the gathering was to enable business members to share their experiences of business operations in the field of agriculture.
During the conference, the participants learnt about methods for using the most effective organic fertilisers for agriculture, especially for growing rice, fruits, vegetables and other crops.
The President and co-founder of the Xaignavong Group, Mr Langkone Xaignavong, made a presentation on using water pipelines for farming in order to ensure efficient water supply in the agricultural sector.
The participants also expressed their interest in using organic fertilisers and the system of water supply for agriculture.
LNCCI has said that agriculture is one of the most important sectors to be promoted, and various agricultural products have bright potential for export to foreign countries, especially after the launching of operations of the Laos-China Railway last year.
