Thai herbal supplement breaks into Lao market

A herbal supplement producer, Pow Miracle Co., Ltd. from Thailand, is looking to expand their market in Laos through a partnership with the Lao advertising agency Bigblue.
A Memorandum of Understanding on marketing cooperation was signed in Vientiane on Friday by the President of Bigblue Agency Lao, Mr Santhalack Chaasane, and the Founder and President of Pow Miracle Co., Ltd., Mr Atichart Chumnanon.
The event was witnessed by other company representatives, government officials and invited guests.
Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony, Mr Atichart said Pow Miracle’s products were made from chameleon plant, also known as fish mint, which is highly nutritious and has numerous health benefits.
The company has been studying the nutritional benefits of fish mint and antioxidants since 2011.
“Fish mint is grown locally and has many benefits, although some people have concerns about the smell given off by this plant,” Mr Atichart said.
“Our products allow consumers to fully benefit from fish mint. They have a good taste and contain a suitable amount of nutritional ingredients. It is a good product for any health lover,” he added.
The products sold by Pow Miracle include a fish mint extract health drink, Powderla (fish mint powder), herbal capsules, and mouth spray.
Mr Atichart said he decided to partner with Bigblue because he believes the agency’s experience in advertising both online and offline in Laos will publicise the brand effectively through the company’s Facebook page and billboards.
Mr Santhalack said the partnership between the two companies is the first but important step in the marketing of Pow Miracle’s products in Laos.
If sales flourish, they will consider setting up a factory and encouraging people in Laos to grow fish mint.
Pow Miracle’s products are now on sale at minimarts and convenience stores.
